I chose this song because it’s about love like Romeo and Juliet’s and when she discovers he’s a Montague it’s a tragedy but she still loves him
Act 2- Love story by Taylor Swift
I picked this song because it is the story of Romeo and Juliet and talks about their love story and how they get married just like in the play
Act 3- Paper bag by Fiona Apple
I chose paper bag because it is about how she wants a man so much it hurts similar to Juliet’s situation when she is waiting for Romeo to return and then waiting for him because he has been banished from Verona.
Act 4- Undone by Haley Reinhart
This song was chosen because in act 4 Juliet has become so undone that she doesn’t know what to do so she decides whether to seek Friar Lawrence’s help or kill herself
Act 5- Plans by Birds of Tokyo
The song plans is about the future plans of two people and how there dreamers and I think that’s just like Romeo and Juliet’s plan to live as a normal married couple and for their families to end their feud.
Very good Crystal, great choices (although I feel your explanations could have been a little more detailed…). I think Clarity captures the heartache at the problems the two lovers face at first, but manage to get over it. Love Story seems to be the general concensus, but understandably because it fits so well. AMAZING to see some Fiona Apple in your choices. It fits perfectly too. Love it! Undone is a great choice to express the unravelling psyche of Juliet as she feels everything is coming apart. Your final choice is so interesting. I feel the last Act is about plas coming apart, but I think you’re right too. Everyone had plans and they all either workout or not at the end of the play (it’s also a great song!). Well done!
