Romeo & Juliet – Song for each Act
ACT 1:
Forever Young – Alphaville
This song relates to Romeo and Juliet because they are both young in the play and love to do what young people do like dance. Especially relates to Romeo because he has a mind like a little boy falling in love with Juliet forgetting about Rosaline in a split second.
ACT 2:
Changes – 2pac
As the marriage between the lovers Romeo and Juliet who are from different families progresses, Friar Lawrence seeks this as an opportunity that could end the long lasting feud between the Montague’s and Capulet’s. As the song says “I see no changes,” this is exactly what happens when the play continues.
ACT 3:
Dillema – Nelly and Kelly
As this song also relates to love and problems, it is exactly what happens in Romeo and Juliet. The two star-crossed lovers are always thinking about each other but as soon as everything seems good, something bad has to happen.
ACT 4:
Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astly
In this Act, Paris is seen confessing his love to Juliet but she just keeps playing smart with her word choices making Paris think she is talking about him. As she secretly denies her love to Paris, she is not giving up her love to Romeo just like the song.
ACT 5:
Bye Bye – Mariah Carey
Relates to when Romeo kills himself to be with Juliet showing that she was his only true love just like in the song when Mariah Carey says “still I’d give the world to see your face.”

Great work Daniel! It’s interesting to see the diverse nature of your music tastes. I believe your choices fit really well with the scenes and are also a little left – of – centre which I really like too. I appreciate the way your have used songs from a range of eras. Rick Astely? Great choice!
